Student Library Technician to CLA Internship

CLA is pleased to present the Student Library Technician to CLA Internship. This program will allow one library technician student to attend the CLA/APLA/NLLA National Conference in St. John’s, NL, May 23-26, 2007.

The internship will include full conference registration, travel, shared accommodation, tickets to some social events, food allowance, and an unparalleled opportunity to network and meet a wide range of information professionals. The intern will participate in events and volunteer at the CLA conference.

Criteria

Applicants for this program must:

  • Submit a short essay (maximum 250 words) on how they believe attending the CLA conference will benefit their career.
  • Be a CLA member at the time of applying (membership forms can be found on the CLA web site or through the CLA office.
  • Be currently enrolled in a Library Technician program in Canada leading to a diploma or certificate. Students who complete their studies in April are also eligible to apply.
  • Submit either a letter from their program or a copy of a current student card that demonstrates their student status.
  • Be enthusiastic about the information profession and be willing to participate in all aspects of the conference and become active in CLA.
