Call for Volunteers for CLA Committees
The important work of the Canadian Library Association would not be possible without the work of our many dedicated volunteers. Much of this interesting and challenging work is undertaken at the committee level.
CLA is looking to fill vacancies on a number of its committees for 2007/2008. Committee appointments are for a three-year period and are determined by the CLA Participation Committee.
This is a wonderful opportunity to challenge yourself and to take an active role in one of your areas of interest, and at the same time make a valuable contribution to your Association. The following committees have vacancies to be filled in 2007/2008:
- Awards (Special) Committee
- CLA / Information Today Award Committee
- Intellectual Property and Public Access
- Member Communications Advisory Committee
- Standing Committee on CLA Nominations, especially from the special library and school library communities
- Standing Committee on Research and Development
- Scholarships Committee, bilingual preferred.
If you are interested in serving on a CLA Committee, please contact Don Butcher, Executive Director (dbutcher@cla.ca). Please indicate which committee(s) you are interested in serving on, and provide a brief biographical sketch to assist the Participation Committee in evaluating and meeting the needs of each committee.
While the Participation Committee endeavours to place every volunteer, that may not be possible. In such cases, some volunteers may be asked if they would like to serve on a different committee or wait for a future need.
Please indicate your interest in serving on a committee by Tuesday, April 10, 2007.
Thank you!
