CASLIS 2009 Seminar - Connecting with Our Clients: Marketing and Communications

The CASLIS Government Library and Information Specialists Section is pleased to invite you to a one-day seminar to explore how we can connect with our clients through marketing and communications.

The seminar will be held January 12, 2009 at Library and Archives Canada (395 Wellington Street) in Ottawa.

Start the day with Ulla de Stricker’s keynote address – “Sex and the Decision: Getting and Keeping the Attention of Executives” – about ways our profession's practitioners may overcome the “yawn factor” and introduce "sex appeal" into the way we sell our value and activities to decision makers.

Over the course the day participants will have an opportunity to learn:

  • how one library successfully rebranded itself;
  • how to develop a communications strategy;
  • how to build compelling business cases; and
  • how to use social media in workplace to improve communication, awareness, and collaboration.
Registration is open until Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Register before November 30th to receive the early-bird discount.
