UT Faculty of Information Alumni Association - Ottawa Event

Thursday, March 5, 2009, 6:00 pm
Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street, Room 154

On behalf of the Faculty of Information Alumni Association (FIAA), we would like to wish you a Happy New Year.

You may have heard that along with the change in year came a new dean of the Faculty, Seamus Ross. Dr. Ross has been meeting many people and groups over the past few weeks, and wanted to reach out to alumni/ae.

Therefore, Dean Ross is inviting all those alumni/ae in Ottawa and the surrounding areas to join him for a special reception at the Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street West, in Room 154, on Thursday, March 5. You are invited to reconnect with classmates and catch up over hors d’oeuvres and beverages from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. There is no charge for the event, and attendees are welcome to bring a guest.

Dean Ross will discuss his plans for the iSchool, talk about ongoing initiatives, and wants to listen to your thoughts on what employers want in upcoming graduates, as well as to meet you. Joining us will be Professor Andrew Clement, who will give a brief overview of his research on privacy rights and the impact on us, including Enhanced Drivers’ Licenses. We will have a business card draw and door prize giveaways too!

When: Thursday, March 5, 2009, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Where: Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street, Room 154
Cost: Free (Attendees are welcome to bring a guest)

Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be provided

To RSVP, please email alumni@ischool.utoronto.ca by Monday, March 2.
