The Ottawa Public Library is taking another step towards a new main library branch today as it unveils plans to purchase a site in the western part of downtown.

The Ottawa Public Library Board is asking city council for $26 million to purchase the site (bounded by Bay, Albert, Lyon and Slater streets) and currently owned by the CS Co-op and several other small landowners.
