Thank you to our volunteers!

It’s National Volunteer Week!  The Canadian Library Association would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the achievements, dedication and hard work of the hundreds of volunteers who contribute their time and energy to make a difference in our association. CLA recognizes the efforts of our volunteers who serve in many different capacities, including in elected positions, on committees, task forces, award juries, as conference volunteers and representatives to partner organizations. These selfless individuals give countless hours of their time and share their wisdom and leadership skills – they truly are the backbone of CLA!

We would also like to recognize the contribution of the many institutions in all sectors which employ these volunteers, and which provide them with the support they need to take vital leadership roles in the activities of the association. Thank you for lending us your great staff!

Across Canada in the past year, 12.5 million volunteers dedicated 2.1 billion hours of their time to make a difference in our world.  If your organizations relies on the efforts of volunteers, take time this week to say “Thanks – you make a difference!”

Thank you to all of the dedicated volunteers of the Canadian Library Association! You make a difference for all libraries and library users across the country!

John Teskey
President
Canadian Library Association (CLA)
