Event: There’s an App for That: or Going Mobile with your Library

Join us for an overview about mobile applications for libraries. The talk will be lead by Chris Simmons, from the Ottawa Public Library. OPL is in the midst of implementing mobile applications and Chris will be able to share with you some things to consider if you want to go mobile with your library. The talk will cover items such as the difference between web sites and mobile applications, what is the benefit of having an app over a mobile web site, what are the technologies being used and what extra capabilities can phones offer to enhance a library’s online presence or physical space.
