UBC - ALA Acreditation for the SLAIS MLIS Program Continued to 2013
I'm pleased to announce that the American Library Association Committee on Accreditation has voted to approve continued accreditation of the SLAIS MLIS program. The program has been continuously accredited since 1963, with the next comprehensive review to come in Fall 2013.

UWO - New Dean of FIMS
The University of Western Ontario has announced the appointment of Thomas Carmichael as Dean of the Faculty of Information and Media Studies (FIMS). Carmichael will begin a five-year term on July 1.

FIMS was created in 1996 by a merger of the graduate schools of Library and Information Science (LIS) and Journalism.
